K-Line Building Repaint

You can’t host a proper Wild West game without having a frontier town, a wealthy ranch house, a barn. That’s like showing up to a gun fight unarmed! And while it is fairly easy and inexpensive to build a respectable figure collection, getting the buildings that will serve as the backdrop for our western scenarios is a bit more tricky.

There are many places to buy beautiful, quality old west buildings for gaming, such as Arnica and Hovels,Ltd. But they tend to be a bit on the pricey side. A more affordable alternative are the high quality paper models from Whitewash City. They offer a ton of buildings and extras and they have a variety of package deals to choose from. They are really great models and we use them in our games, but I wanted to start collecting some hard modeled buildings.

On The Rules with No Name site I found a brief list of some plastic models that could be used for our games. Unfortunately, most are discontinued and can only be found on eBay. . . but fortunately I am an eBay fanatic! One of the first building sets I bought was this one manufactured by a company called K-Line:

Nothing much to look at. . . until you add a few coats of paint!

I think this project turned out well and I’m happy with the way the wood paneling effect looks; I think this cabin looks like it was made from Redwoods!

  1. Nice page and excellent work on the buildings. Are you planning to paint professionally?

  2. Hahaha, maybe one day 😉
